I just just finished drawing a sketch of how I want my vegetable garden to be. You will see a wide variety in the picture I have scanned in and should be enough to feed me and my family for some time.
What does worry me though is if all these veggies will last long enough for us to eat it, and will the new batch I put in after I remove this lot be ready in time to enable me to be self sufficient. We will see eh, this is the fun part learning and planning. I am so excited!!!
Watch this space for when the veggie area is prepared for the planting!!

I would advise you Dawn, start picking and eating as soon as some of it is ripe enough to eat, then leave the rest in the ground as long as you can before pulling it up – this way it will be fresher longer.
Hope this helps!

Also when you pick it, to get extra life out of it, put it in an airtight container, bag or packaging or even shrink wrap it. This will expend the shelf life quite some time.
Just found your site. I’m always reading anything that pertains to gardening. I have a blog on ‘growing a garden’. So I like to see what others are writing about he subject.
Found your site to be interesting and informative. Would be glad for you to visit my site and check it out.
Thanks for sharing. You’re doing a great job with your site.

Hiya, I find that interplanting crops with other crops which mature quickly or that can be picked when small allows me to make best use of my space. So for instance you would plant carrots between your onions or maybe raddish between your cauliflowers..Might help you get the most out of your garden.
